David Rose is the Vice President of Recruiting of Yellow Dog Recruiting, a national recruiting company that specializes in the hospitality industry.
What makes Yellow Dog Recruiting so unique is that they focus on building relationships with candidates as well companies. This enables them to better understand both the job-seeker and the employers’needs to find the best overall match.
Recently, Yellow Dog has rolled out a new tool on their site called Video Introductions. A Video Introductions is essentially a 30 to 60 second elevator pitch that the job-seeker creates in order to portray their charisma and energy; something that’s difficult to get across via a resume. Creating the video is simple. Yellow Dog has taken the time to provide tips and guidance on getting the very best video up and running.
“Of the first 100 people who did a Video Introduction, Yellow Dog placed 67 of them,” says Rose.
While doing a Video Introduction isn’t mandatory to work with Yellow Dog, it most definietly is a great way for job-seekers to find out what their value is in the market.

I distinguish myself from the competition by being well prepared. I do my research on the company as well as the people that are interviewing me. I use LinkedIn and Google to do my due diligence as well as read the latest annual reports and press releases of the company so I can come across as thoughtful, well prepared and insightful.
